Oregon Youth Soccer December 2015

Don't Miss the 2016 Oregon Youth Soccer
Annual General Meeting

There's one time of the year when the entire Oregon Youth Soccer community — coaches, volunteers, administrators, referees and other soccer supporters — gather together under one roof to celebrate the greatest game, and the greatest state ... the Oregon Youth Soccer Annual General Meeting!

This year's Annual General Meeting will take place Jan. 28-30, 2016, at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront. That includes three days of coaching workshops hosted by nationally licensed instructors, the Annual Awards Luncheon, the Annual Business Meeting and much more!

Each year, coaches and administrators from clubs across the state gather at the AGM to connect with fellow coaches on the local, regional and national level; network with club and association leaders from throughout Oregon; further their coaching development at unique workshops; recognize the top Oregon Youth Soccer contributors from the past year; and participate in determining the future of the organization in the year to come.

This year's AGM weekend will be packed with activities from beginning to end (click the link at left for a full schedule):

Thursday, Jan. 28: Coaching Workshops

Friday, Jan. 29: Coaching Workshops, Technical Director/Head Coaches Meeting, Club Presidents Meeting, President's Reception

Saturday, Jan. 30: Coaching Workshops, Registration Workshop, Administrator Workshop, Awards Luncheon, Annual Business Meeting

Among the coaching workshops this year will be "The Science of Youth Soccer," including presentations and field sessions led by leaders in the fields of Sport Science, Sport Psychology, and Player Development, including NSCAA Director of Coaching Education Ian Barker. Attendees will also receive three meals and an adidas gift bag.

The Annual Awards Banquet will feature recognition of the Coaches of the Year in four different divisions (boys competitive, girls competitive, boys recreational and girls recreational), the Volunteer of the Year, the Administrator of the Year and the TOPSoccer Buddy of the Year, plus the OYSA Lifetime Achievement Award. The day will also be highlighted by a keynote speech from Dr. Matthew Robinson, Director of the Sport Management Program in the Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware, and one of the nation's leading experts in coaching education.

Tickets to Saturday's activities are $75 if purchased before Jan. 14, 2016, and $100 on-site (Registration for "The Science of Sport Soccer" is conducted separately; click the link above for more info). And as an added bonus, anyone who registers for the AGM prior to Dec. 30 will be automatically entered into a drawing to receive one of five Bazooka Goals!
