OYSA Announces Summer/Fall Coach Development Schedule

The OYSA is currently putting together the final details for a full schedule of clinics, courses and other events that can help all coaches improve and develop. From informal, free clinics to US Soccer License courses, NSCAA Diploma courses and other informational events, the OYSA strives to meet the needs of all coaches throughout the State.

Some examples of the schedule for the summer/fall include:

• An NSCAA Level 2 Diploma Course in Portland on July 12. The course includes a Saturday evening classroom session and a Sunday morning field session, six hours total. Other Level 2 courses will also be held around the state this summer:
⁃ Level 2 course in St Helens on Aug 22-23.
⁃ Level 3 in Portland on Aug 28 & 30.
⁃ With additional NSCAA courses to come!

• A US Soccer "E" License Course on June 19-21 in Beaverton. The course includes classroom and field sessions over 18 hours. Other US Soccer licenses being held around Oregon include:
⁃ An E License course in August
⁃ An E License course designed specifically for female coaches in November.
⁃ A "D" License course (1st part) in August and December (1st part & 2nd part)

• The National Youth Coaching Course is coming to Oregon, July 31-Aug 2 and Aug 7-9. Every Oregon Youth Soccer club receives a free pass to this course, which is a two-weekend course delivering information on working with 5-12 year old soccer players.

And August is filled with OYSA coach clinics, NSCAA courses and US Soccer courses. Once finalized, the OYSA website will featuring all the pre-Fall season events.
