Oregon Youth Soccer • March 2015
Congratulations to the top teams and players from this year’s Portland Timbers/OYSA Recreation Cup!
Rec Cup concludes, as Presidents Cup and State Cup kick off statewide!
Eleven recreational youth soccer teams from throughout the state of Oregon were crowned champions of the 2014 Portland Timbers/OYSA Recreation Cup this winter, capping an exciting weekend of competition in the state's largest recreational tournament.
The Recreation Cup is a fun-filled tournament for recreational teams in Oregon Youth Soccer, the state's largest youth soccer organization. The annual event brings together boys' and girls' teams in the U9-U14 age groups for a weekend of exciting, fun competition.
Seventy teams kicked off in preliminary-round games on Oct. 4, with 22 advancing to the following day's finals, held on fields throughout the Portland area. In addition to the players on the field, hundreds of parents, volunteers and soccer enthusiasts turned out to watch the action and support these outstanding youth recreational teams. Congratulations to all the winners and finalists listed below!
And while tournament action has concluded for the state's top recreational teams, the action is just now beginning to heat up in the Oregon State Cup and Oregon Presidents Cup, presented by the Timbers (boys) and Thorns (girls). The U11 and U12 age groups of the Presidents Cup crowned their champions last fall (see below), while the U13 and U14 age groups have whittled the field down to 16 worthy semi-finalists, with games on tap this spring.
Meanwhile, preliminary-round games in both State Cup and the high-school age divisions of Presidents Cup kick off April 11, with a month of intense action building toward the semi-finals and finals weekend on May 2-3.
Registration for both State Cup and the high-school age divisions of Presidents Cup closes Mar. 9, so be sure to register your team soon for the chance to prove yourself against Oregon's finest!
* - Presidents Cup play in the U11 Girls and U12 Boys age groups was postponed by weather, and will be played this spring.
